About Us

Welcome to VisitJK

VisitJK was created with one simple purpose: to help travellers plan an honest, well-informed trip to Jammu & Kashmir.

Most travel content about Kashmir falls into one of two categories — either generic listicles written by people who have never set foot here, or overpriced tour operator pages designed to sell packages. VisitJK is neither.

My name is Rahul Naik. I am from Jammu & Kashmir, and I have spent years exploring both divisions of this Union Territory — the Kashmir Valley, the Jammu region, the high-altitude areas of Ladakh’s border districts, and everything in between. The places I write about on this site are places I have been to, know well, or have researched thoroughly from people who live there.

What VisitJK covers:

  • Destination guides for Kashmir Valley, Jammu Division, and border areas
  • Honest travel tips — best time to visit, how to reach, permits required, costs
  • Day-by-day itineraries for different trip lengths and budgets
  • Food and culture — Kashmiri cuisine, local traditions, festivals worth experiencing
  • Accommodation guidance — houseboats, budget hotels, camping, mountain stays

Who this site is for:

First-time visitors trying to understand what Kashmir actually looks like beyond the postcard images. Repeat visitors who want to explore beyond the standard Gulmarg-Pahalgam-Sonamarg circuit. Indian travellers planning a road trip through J&K. International tourists navigating permits and logistics. Anyone who wants real information, not brochure language.

Our promise: Every piece of content on VisitJK is written to be genuinely useful. No fluff, no exaggeration, no sponsored positivity. If a place has a drawback worth knowing about, we mention it. If a route is difficult in certain seasons, we tell you. Good travel planning depends on accurate information — that is what we aim to provide.

If you have questions about planning a trip to J&K, spotted an error, or want to suggest a destination we should cover — reach out through email Mbhatzahid@gmail.com
